Best Apps for Interior Design

Apps for interior design

In a dream world, every move would come with an interior decorator to help us seamlessly create the amazing look and feel we’ve always wanted in our new home. But that takes a big investment of time, money, and energy that most of us just don’t have.

Luckily there’s an app for that.

Whether you use iOS or have an Android, there are apps to help you visualize your empty rooms with different arrangements of furniture, decorations, and paint colors — and some of them will even help you shop for it all online. So here are some of the best apps for interior design with options for iOS and Android devices.

Houzz

Available on Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Amazon, the Houzz app is a one-stop-shop for your entire remodel. Upload photos of your new space and choose items like a sectional sofa or new headboard to “try out” the furniture

][in your space with their visual design option. The bonus? If you like what you see, you can then order the pieces directly through the app’s shop.

The next bonus? If the kitchen renovation you just loved requires a plumber, you can browse through local professionals… directly through the app. You can also log in on your laptop to see the room designs you create and save your thumbs the effort.

Free for iOS and Android.

Color Capture

Trying to color match can be such a pain when nobody can quite agree on what color off-white your sofa really is. Benjamin Moore, the paint company, created an app that will color-match the photo you take to one of their 3,500 paint colors. You can then share the match with your friends or email it to your Interior Designer (or your mother) to get a second opinion. Or third, or fourth for that matter.

Free on iOS and Android.

Havenly

If you want a little professional advice without going all-in with an interior designer, Havenly has you covered. Upload photos of your space and chat with a designer about your desired style, budget, and vision for the space. The designer will then make recommendations that you can purchase directly through the app. This company does offer higher-end design services that will give you a more personalized feel in your home, starting at $79 for a room.

Artfully Walls

Choosing new pieces of art for your home can be panic-inducing if you’re not sure how they will all work together. Enter: Artfully Walls, one of the more specific apps for interior design. Upload a photo of the space and try out different pieces and styles of art on their “Try On Wall” feature to see how they look when you arrange them… before you start making holes in the wall.

Morpholio Board

This app is designed to inspire the artistic interior designer in you.
