LA Celebrity Owned Restaurants Worth a Visit

LA Celebrity Owned Restaurants

It is no great secret that some of the top restaurants in the country are found in L.A. In fact, if you ask your Los Angeles movers where to eat, they can likely recommend a long list of venues with mouthwatering food, whether you are looking for seafood, a burger or somewhere to indulge in dessert. However, if you are like many others, you want to know where the restaurants are that are owned by celebrities. After all, this is the best place to have a chance at seeing someone famous, and you can see if your favorite actress really does eat as much as she says she does but never seems to gain any weight!

Ago

When Robert De Niro paired up with Chef Agostino Sciandri, everyone just knew something magical was going to happen. They opened the doors of this upscale Italian restaurant in 1997 and business instantly took off.

Before entering the restaurant, you marvel at rustic olive trees and 30-foot Italian Cypress trees, indigenous to central and northern Italy. Inside you are greeted by a wood-paneled bar and a luminous glow cast throughout the room, which creates a warm and inviting feel. There are even private dining areas for the A-list clientele. Although all of their food is seriously to die for, guests rave about Bistecca Alla Florentina, the Branzino, Veal Milanese and the Spaghetti Alto Scoglio.

Nobu

Another one Robert De Niro co-founded. He paired up with Celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa to open up this location in the spring of 2008 and it was designed by world-renowned architect David Rockwell in the famed L’Orangerie space on La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood.
With three separate dining rooms and an elegant bar lounge, each of the dining spaces has its own unique character and feel. The bar and lounge have become a local hangout and it offers a tapas menu designed for a more relaxed dining experience.

Tagine

Close friends Chef Ben Benameur, Chris Angulo, and Ryan Gosling opened Tagine in 2004 after Ryan told Ben that his food was “the food I want to eat for the rest of my life!”.  Chef Ben’s inspiration came from his grandmother, Zhora and the way she prepared meals for the family in their small home in Morocco.

Today, Chef Ben carries out Zhora’s traditional Moroccan cookings and they have evolved through his curiosity and creativity. Each dish bringing the spirit of her recipes to the elaborate tasting menus he serves night after night. His only desire, to make you feel as warm and satisfied as he did years before eating her food. Ben just wants a warm place where the food is made with love.
