Outdoor Activities in Miami

One of the greatest things about living in Miami is that you will never run out of things to do outside. Just ask your Miami movers, and they will likely tell you that this is a city that was made specifically for active people. So, whether you simply enjoy casual strolls through lush trails, riding a wave at the beach or seeking adventure to satisfy your need for an adrenaline rush, you will find countless activities to keep you busy in this city.

Biscayne National Park

If you only go diving once in your life, it should be at Biscayne National Park. Often referred to as the “Underwater Paradise,” 95 percent of the park is actually underwater. It is home to several endangered and threatened species including the Eastern Indigo snake, West Indian manatee, American crocodile, Piping plover, Peregrine falcon, and five different sea turtle species. If diving or snorkeling is not your cup of tea and you prefer to remain on top of the water, you can rent boats and canoes too.

Everglades National Park

This very well may be the best place to canoe in the entire state. With 1.5 million acres of sub-tropical jungles and swamps, you will likely want to spend a lot of time here, if you are a nature lover. There are 14 endangered and rare species, including the Florida panther and the West Indian manatee.

Parrot Jungle Island

This is a fantastic place to spend a day! Visitors are provided with an educational but fun experience, exploring tropical birds in environments that resemble their natural habitat.

Miami Metro Zoo

One thing unique about this zoo is that the animals are thoughtfully grouped according to their natural territory, so you actually learn something while you are there, whether you realize it or not. This is one of the country’s first free-range zoos.

Miami Beaches

As you already know, there is no shortage of beaches in Miami. Whether you want to go for a morning jog, soak up some afternoon rays or do a little surfing, you will have plenty of available opportunities. A few favorite spots include Virginia Key, Haulover, Hobie, and Bal Harbor beaches, as well as Bill Bags Cape Florida State Park, which is voted as one of America’s top 10 best beaches.

Swamp Safari

Everyone needs to experience a swamp safari at least once! Sit back and enjoy the views as you ride through one of the world’s largest remaining swamplands.

Monkey Jungle

Nearly 400 primates find their home here, most of which are free to run around 30 acres. You get the opportunity to watch them eat, interact with one another and sometimes even interact with you!

Rent a Bicycle

All around Miami Beach, you will find an abundance of places where you can rent bicycles. Your Miami movers might even be able to tell you where to go as this is a favorite pastime for many locals. This is a very bike-friendly city and a great way to see the city while also burning a few calories.

With all these awesome outdoor activities to choose from, who wouldn’t want to move here? Need movers? We’ve got some great movers in Miami to help you with your move.
