It is no secret that the food scene in Las Vegas is unreal. Some of the best chefs in the country are found here, and it is very rare you ever hear a food complaint at any of the casinos. Well, you may also be interested in learning that, this is where you will also have the best dessert of your life. There are countless venues that have no interest in feeding you savory food; they simply strive to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Lappert’s Ice Cream
What could possibly go better with hot Nevada weather than ice cream? It is in the California Casino on the second floor, and not all that easy to find, but it is a hidden gem. They have a fantastic flavor selection, including rum raisin, macadamia nut, and white chocolate, and the scoops are huge. They also make a Kauai Pie, with Kona coffee, fudge, macadamia nuts, and toasted and shredded coconut that is out of this world!
Chocolate and Spice
This place has some really weird hours, as it is only open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. The second you walk in you are surrounded by the sweet smell of sugar and chocolate. The truffles are so good, especially the pumpkin spice, and the tiramisu and banana cream pie tart get rave reviews. If you are a pistachio lover you will want to try a pistachio cannoli and a slice of the pistachio cake. They are equally delicious.
Suzuya Pastries and Crepes
If you are looking for a dessert place not directly on the strip, you will want to try this one in the Spring Valley neighborhood area. It is off 215, and in a strip mall behind Jiffy Lube, so you would never know it is there if you weren’t looking for it. Chef Misuzu and her staff are amazing. There is a permanent menu, but she also adds in weekly treats and seasonal flavors, so there is always something new to try. Everything is phenomenal, but a few desserts that are highly recommended include the Tofu Cheesecake, Green Tea Cake, Rum Raisin Shortbread Sandwich, Anmitsu, Rocky Road Crepe, and the Crème Puff.
Sugar Factory
The great thing about the sugar factory is that there is outdoor seating, and you can see the crowds gather at the Bellagio fountains. Another great thing about this venue is that it is open 24 hours a day! You can satisfy your craving whenever you want. From Rocky Road Pizza to cream crepes to customized cakes, this place has something for everyone.
