Best Restaurants in Little Rock, Arkansas

When you think of lobster, you picture Maine. When you dream of barbecue, you long to be in Texas. When you are after vegan and vegetarian options, you head to California. When you think of Arkansas, there probably are not any specific types of food that come to mind, but that certainly does not mean that you will go hungry here. Just ask your Little Rock movers where to go for whatever type of food you are craving and they will likely be able to point you in the right direction.

Here is a list of restaurants to get you started.

Flying Fish of Little Rock

This place can be a little (or a lot!) chaotic. You literally order at the counter and find a seat, and have to deal with it being jam-packed. Therefore, you need to jump on an empty space as people are leaving, so you have somewhere to eat. That being said, the stress bubble you endure pre-meal is well worth it for what you are about to enjoy. Do you really think people would put up with the craziness if the food wasn’t absolutely amazing? One bucket of Coronas, Flying Fish Gumbo and Shrimp Kabobs are a perfect trifecta.

Big Orange

Whether you are a vegetarian or if you are a meat-eater, you will find something to satisfy your taste buds at the Big Orange. Their Mango Curry Ketchup is so good on sweet potato fries, and you must say goodbye to your diet and indulge in one of their homemade shakes; chocolate pistachio is recommended!

Whole Hog Café

Not only does this place have the best pork sandwich you will ever eat, but the food is super cheap, and you get a lot! The sweet barbecue sauce is amazing, and you can’t order without including their creamy potato salad. It is an absolute must!

Capital Bar & Grill

This venue is found in an elegant historic hotel. The place is immaculate, service is attentive and the food is delicious. The gumbo gets rave reviews, as it has big pieces of sausage, chicken, and duck in it. Their fried black-eyed peas are pretty addictive as well, and they offer a great draft beer selection.

Café Bossa Nova

This place may not look like much on the outside, but the appearance is very deceiving. You really won’t be disappointed with anything on the menu, but there are a few popular favorites that the locals go for. These include the cheese bread, salmon cakes, yucca root, palm salad, and the mouthwatering Crepes de Frango, which are always cooked to perfection.

Flying Saucer

There is a very good chance that your Little Rock movers have been to the Flying Saucer enough to recommend it. This is a two-floor venue, with the bottom level offering a hipster vibe. They have a fantastic beer selection, and although technically a bar, they get mad props for their food. A few recommendations include their homemade pretzels, pizzas, hot wings and their German Plate that includes two different bratwursts, German potato salad, and sauerkraut.
