Indoor Connecticut Activities for Kids

Connecticut Activities for Kids

If you want to surf all day, you move to California. If you want to party and gamble 24 hours a day, Las Vegas is calling your name. If you want to have a family and raise your children in a safe and culturally rich environment, you move to Connecticut, one of the country’s most family-friendly places. There are activities for kids to do year-round, even when the weather is undesirable and they need to be inside. If your Connecticut movers have kids of their own, they will likely be familiar with some of the activities on this list.

Mystic Aquarium

The animal-loving folks here are constantly rescuing or welcoming new animals, such as penguins and sea lions. There are an abundance of animal exhibits and aquariums to explore as well as shows to watch and educational programs to take part in.

The Bright Spot Children’s Playhouse

Although there is open playtime here, this establishment also offers summer programs and birthday parties as well. As long as your child is a kindergartner or younger, this is a fun and safe place for them to play where they don’t have to feel intimidated by bigger kids or knocked over on accident.

Chelsea Piers Connecticut

If you’re looking for a place where the kids can spend the entire day, this Connecticut version of the NYC sports complex is the place to be. Packed to the brim with all the things kids love, this complex features drop-in programs for trampoline, batting cages, rock climbing, basketball, volleyball, ice skating, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and much more.

On Track Karting

There is junior and adult karting here, so kids as young as 7 years old can have fun on the track with others their same age. They provide a neck brace and helmet, and they do have race suits available too. If you have a child 7 through 15 years old, this will become one of their favorite spots to go.

Connecticut Sportsplex

Here you will find a long list of fun activities, including batting cages, a playscape, cybersport, an arcade and laser tag. There is even a weekly family fun night where one price gets you pizza, 60 arcade tokens and unlimited time in the playscape and laser tag.

The Discovery Museum and Planetarium

If your child is infatuated with space like many are, they will love exploring the 65 science and technology exhibits here. The planetarium shows are amazing, projected onto the massive dome.

The Dinosaur Place

There are both indoor and outdoor activities at the Dinosaur Place, so it is fun to visit year-round. There is a fluorescent display, bead room, fossil gallery and plenty of hands-on activities to participate in.

Champions Skating Center

There is youth hockey, figure skating lessons and public skating here. This is also a fun place to rent out for a birthday party; you might want to keep this in mind for future reference!

Coco Key Water Resort

Kids will indulge in an adventure with raft rides, sparkling pools, and a rushing river. This is a special indoor resort to escape to when Old Man Winter makes himself at home outside.

Lutz Children’s Museum

Every visit is always exciting because this museum changes its exhibits frequently. Plus there are special programs offered daily and everything is tailored to children, especially ages 2 through 10 years old. If your Connecticut movers have kids, there is a good chance that they have spent a little time here.
