After 4 days of results-focused education sessions, networking, and industry togetherness, the American Moving & Storage Association’s Education Conference & Expo officially closed Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia. Industry veterans came together to inspire a new generation of moving companies to not only reinvent their businesses and differentiate themselves from the rogues but to also engage with each other and give back to their communities. Seeing the continued support of AMSA makes us proud to be a supplier to such a dedicated industry.
Looking back over the past few days, a few of Unpakt’s favorite moments:
Former AMSA President and CEO Linda Bauer Darr kicked off the conference with an exciting Opening General Session featuring Keynote Speaker Jason Jennings, one of the most successful leaders and business authors in the world. He pleased the crowd with ten basic rules for reinventing your business in 2013.
Unpakt mover partner Lance Grooms, Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Bekins A-1 Movers gave an action-packed seminar titled, “Consumer Marketing in an Instant Gratification World.” Lance set the room on fire as he discussed how moving companies must be where their customers are, stay ahead of the curve and keep up with ever-changing media.
We showcased Unpakt at the AMSA Expo across multiple days. Rolling out the red carpet (hardwood floor), we welcomed movers, service providers and potential partners to our booth. We demo’ed Unpakt and showcased our service as a cost-savings and marketing tool for moving companies small and large.
At the Expo, we also visited a few friends at their booths. Check out:
- SmartMove for specialized and color-coded packing tape.
- Move for Hunger to see how moving companies are helping fight hunger nationwide
- International Association of Movers, the industry’s global trade association
Our time in Atlanta ended on a high note with the Evening of the Stars Awards Presentation and Dinner, sponsored by Allied Van Lines, Dependable Auto Shippers, North American Van Lines, Vanliner Insurance and Wheaton|Bekins.
We officially congratulate all AMSA award winners for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to the industry:
