Funny Moving Advice

Even someone who is looking forward to a move may find they get stressed, overwhelmed, sleep-deprived and yes, even grumpy. There is just a lot to do, and it seems like there is never enough time. Even with a few clones, you would probably still find yourself a little on edge. Well, there is no point getting stressed. Some things will be out of your control, like the weather and traffic, but there are other things you can do to help the day go smoother. For starters, lighten up! This can actually be a fun day.

Try Not to Procrastinate

Fair enough, maybe procrastination has gotten you through just fine in life. Maybe you are one of those people who says you work best under pressure. Be honest, you have no choice but to be productive under pressure because you procrastinated! Now is the time to turn over a new leaf; you can go back to putting the details of your life off for another day when the move is done. The earlier you get started, the less you will have to cram into taking care of at the last minute.

Make a Checklist

Yes, of course, you can remember your grocery list, but this does not mean you are a genius. When you are in the grocery store, you are surrounded by triggers that jog your memory. Planning a move is no time to test your brilliance. There are a lot of things to take care of. If you don’t create a list and check it off as you go, there is a good chance that things will be forgotten.

Prove You’re Smart by Not Overspending on Supplies

If you think you are so smart that you don’t need to create a checklist then perhaps you can use your intelligence to come up with creative ways to pack without spending a fortune. Sure, you can go buy boxes and packing supplies, but walk away knowing people are secretly laughing at you behind your back because you paid for things you didn’t have to.

Although putting a smile on your face can be a challenging task, if you do this, and go to a store or restaurant, they will likely give you a ton of boxes for free! All you have to do is ask and try to remember to say please and thank you. That’s it! You can use towels, blankets, t-shirts and other similar things to wrap valuables too, so you won’t need bubble wrap either.

Don’t Count On Your Friends

You have the greatest friends in the world, right? You don’t need movers because your friends will all pitch in and help. They will be on time, and no one will get drunk, get into an argument with someone else or drop a box they should have known was too heavy for one person to carry. A lot of friendships are lost on someone’s moving day. Do yourself a favor and local moving services. You can invite your friends to help you pack or unpack if you want.

Don’t Party the Night Before

Just because you took the day off to move does not give you a reason to go out the night before. You may not need to get up for work, but you do still need to get up early. Plus, moving day is a lot more exhausting than sitting at your desk pretending to work while you are texting your friend and checking your Facebook feed.
